The Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 imposed a duty on local authorities and health boards to collaborate to ensure the availability of independent advocacy services in their area. Independent Advocacy plays an important role in supporting people to express their views and in providing a source of support which gives them the confidence to speak out. Prospective providers must meet the selection criteria as detailed in this contract notice and also meet the required technical criteria as detailed in the Tender Documents. The contract will be for a period of 3 years with the option to extend for a further period of up to 12 months..
