## Summary

The Scottish Government is procuring a training service aimed at enhancing personal development for women involved in Scottish agriculture. This tender, titled "Development training for women living or working in Scottish agriculture," is at the award stage and was signed on 23rd July 2021, with a total contract value of £140,400. The procurement process followed an open method, focusing on the provision of ten training courses to be delivered over a two-year period, with the address for the contracting authority located at 4 Atlantic Quay, Glasgow, UK. Key delivery addresses are in the UK region, and the procurement includes a provision for both virtual and in-person training sessions, contingent on COVID-19 guidelines.

This opportunity is particularly beneficial for training providers with expertise in personal development, specifically tailored to the agricultural sector, and those understanding the unique challenges faced by women in this industry. Businesses that specialise in delivering flexible and dynamic training programmes will be well-positioned to compete for this contract. The Scottish Government is looking for providers who can demonstrate not only the capability to deliver such training but also the ability to create supportive environments that encourage women's participation and networking within agricultural communities.

## Notice

Scottish Government wishes to procure a high quality training service targeted to the personal development of women living or working in Scottish agriculture, specifically addressing, but not restricted to: - building their confidence and self-esteem - discovering the true value of their skills, strengths and experiences - creating lasting connections and support networks - empowering them to take up new roles and opportunities

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The client wishes to procure training that is flexible, dynamic and transformative for attendees. This is personal development training for a very specific demographic. The skills taught will be those consistent with standard models of personal development training, however they must be applied to the specific context of women living or working in Scottish agriculture and the particular issues that these women often face e.g.: succession issues; the complexities of family farming businesses; lack of representation in leadership roles; highly gendered division of labour etc. The Service Provider will therefore be required to demonstrate expertise in personal development training as well as knowledge or experience of agricultural and rural communities. Scottish Governmentis looking to the Service Provider to deliver ten courses across a two year period. Six of these courses will take place entirely virtually (via online delivery) and Four will take place in person, (Covid-19 restrictions permitting). This is to ensure that women in rural areas who experience poor connectivity problems, need not be excluded from participating in the training. It is required that the course content and facilitator input will remain largely the same for both delivery models. i.e. an online delivery model that is largely self-taught, would not be acceptable.. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 58 of the Public Contracts (Scotland)Regulations 2015.

Options: Scottish Government reserve the option to extend the contract for an additional period of 12 months.
