## Summary

The North Ayrshire Council is initiating a tender titled "Creative Employability for Care Experienced Young People," focused on providing creative and bespoke employability programmes for care experienced young individuals facing challenges related to anxiety and mental health, particularly heightened by the COVID-19 pandemic. The procurement is currently in the planning stage and aims to support these young people in building resilience and preparing for future employment or further education. The estimated date for publication of the quick quote is 21st May 2021, with a deadline for responses set for 11th June 2021 at 12 noon, and the award date expected to be 25th June 2021. The programmes will be delivered in Irvine, and the chosen vendor will be required to facilitate a range of personal and social development opportunities over a 10-week period starting in August 2021.

This tender presents a substantial opportunity for businesses that specialise in youth support services, mental health programmes, and employability training. Companies with experience in delivering tailored educational and vocational programmes for vulnerable populations, particularly those without qualifications, would be particularly well-suited to compete. By engaging in this procurement process, businesses have the chance to establish or expand their impact in the community while contributing to the development of essential skills and confidence among care experienced young people in North Ayrshire.

## Notice

NAC are aware that many of our care experienced young people are experiencing heightened levels of anxiety and/or poor mental health and may be anxious about their life transition. This has been exacerbated by COVID-19 and the impact of lockdown and ongoing restrictions such as social distancing and self-isolation. To support our care experienced young people build resilience and wellbeing post lockdown and to ensure that they are equipped with the confidence skills and confidence to move forward, NAC are exploring the option of providing creative and bespoke employability programmes. These programmes will be tailored to support and engage our care experienced young people who have left school with little/no qualifications, and who will not be prepared or ready to move on to further education or employment, without a period of intensive support to assist them with this transition.
