## Summary

The procurement process for the "Tender for Grants Research and Evaluation" is being conducted by Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS), located in Edinburgh, UK. This initiative falls under the services category and is aimed at evaluating the impact of MGS's grants programme. The tender is currently at the award stage, with the contract signed on 24 June 2021, following a competitive open tendering procedure. Interested suppliers were invited to submit proposals until the bid submission deadline of 4 June 2021, after the tender was opened for bids on the same date.

This tender represents an excellent opportunity for organisations with expertise in grants evaluation and knowledge of museum-related activities. Businesses that specialise in research, analytics, and impact reporting, particularly those classified as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), would be well-suited to compete. The successful contractor will collaborate closely with MGS to gather insights from grant programmes and contribute to improving future funding strategies, ultimately enhancing the public value of museums and galleries across Scotland.

## Notice

MGS invites tenders from organisations which demonstrate an understanding of the nature of museum work (with the ability to identify themes of types of activity) as well as exhibiting knowledge of grants evaluation and impact reporting. The successful contractor will work with MGS to analyse the impact of its grants programme using information held within MGS's Grants Processing System.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) is the National Development Body for museums and galleries in Scotland. MGS also promotes the sector's work to the Scottish Government, stakeholders and the public, and advocates the public value and contribution of museums and galleries to society. MGS invites tenders from organisations which demonstrate an understanding of the nature of museum work (with the ability to identify themes of types of activity) as well as exhibiting knowledge of grants evaluation and impact reporting. The successful contractor will work with MGS to analyse the impact of its grants programmes using information held within MGS's Grants Processing System (GPS). The objective of this project is for MGS to gain a better understanding of how its funding programmes have already impacted the sector and how future funding could be developed according to sector need. The successful contractor will work collaboratively with MGS, liaising with grants staff as well as mining information from the GPS with support from system developers. Information will also be sought from grant holders where necessary. In doing so, the contractor will analyse historic project outcomes and identify sector needs, as well as exploring how MGS's funding programmes could meet these needs whilst also driving sector development. All of these findings will then be complied in a written report, which will be orally presented to selected MGS staff. The report should be in a format which can be repurposed by MGS, for example if MGS wishes to distribute some of the findings to the wider sector or show an extract to the Board of Trustees.

Renewal: Subject to any necessary extension
