## Summary

The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service, located at The Jack Copland Centre in Edinburgh, is seeking suppliers for its "Temperature Mapping Services" project. The procurement process is currently in the Award stage, following the completion of an open tender that concluded on 8th September 2021. This initiative falls under the health sector, specifically in services, and has an active contract with a value of £55,000, awarded to VWR International Ltd. The initial contract period is set for one year, with options for two twelve-month extensions. This tender is a part of a regulatory requirement to ensure proper temperature control for equipment and areas where blood and cellular therapies are stored and processed.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for companies specialising in temperature mapping and related services, particularly those with experience in healthcare settings. Businesses that demonstrate strong economic and technical capabilities, alongside substantial insurance coverage, would be well-positioned to compete effectively. Given the open nature of the procurement method and the involvement of a reputable public health entity, successful suppliers may benefit from ongoing contracts and potential expansions into similar projects within the public sector.
