## Summary

The University of Aberdeen has successfully completed a procurement for Niox Vero devices and related consumables to monitor asthma inhaler adherence. This procurement falls under the goods category within the education industry and utilised a limited procurement method without prior publication of a competition call, as it was determined that these specific devices could only be provided by Circassia Limited due to technical reasons. The contract was valued at £210,000 and was signed on 2nd July 2021, with the project located in Aberdeen, UK.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the healthcare and medical device sectors, particularly those specialising in asthma and respiratory care technologies. Businesses that can deliver innovative, patented products designed for paediatric patients or similar niche markets may find it advantageous to engage with the University of Aberdeen in future tenders. With a focus on technical offerings and competitive pricing, suppliers can explore avenues for expansion and collaboration in academia and healthcare settings.
