In 2020 the department started the negotiations to renew the contract, but the outbreak of the pandemic and the following lock-down stopped the negotiations (the microscope has rarely been used in the past year and a half). After nearly two years of disuse the microscope now needs to be serviced to keep systems functioning as they should and performing to the level you expect. Because it is a Leica product, the Leica Microsystems local service specialist will be the best suited to carry out that task. NCA allows for 2 additional years support - Estimated value 2,000 GBP. NCA approved July 2021 - Specialist equipment
