## Summary

The procurement process involves the 2023 Cycling World Championships Ltd, which is based in Edinburgh, UK. The organisation is seeking to establish a co-operation contract with Glasgow City Council as part of plans for hosting the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships. This procurement is categorised under the services industry and is currently at the Award stage, with the contract valued at £10,000,000. The decision to enter into the contract was signed on 16 September 2021, based on the rationale of collaboration between the two entities, which are recognised as strategic partners for the event's organisation, staging, and promotion.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses looking to expand in the event management and related services sectors. Firms that specialise in event logistics, marketing, or public engagement could greatly benefit by aligning with Glasgow City Council and the Championships’ organisers. As Glasgow City Council is expected to engage with additional suppliers for various aspects of the Championships, it's a prime time for businesses to position themselves to provide services that support the successful execution of this significant event.
