### Lot Information

Lot 1

The Centre for Middle Eastern Plants is looking for a specialist translator who can effectively communicate between English and Arabic in a range of specialist disciplines. The requirement is to undertake the following: - Accurate translation between English and Arabic in formal documents; - Translation from hand written information gathering documents and questionnaires designed to inform decision making and implementation of programme activities in situ; - Translation from Arabic written by individuals from Soqotra (Yemen) which contains multiple local Soqotri language insertions, adulterations and local pace names into accurate Arabic and English documents; - Knowledge of the technical subject areas encountered in a range of documents types, specifically relating to cultural heritage in all its forms, botany and conservation science and application, biodiversity loss and climate change, as well as international development; - Occasional translation between English and Arabic that requires knowledge of the above specialist and technical knowledge targeting Arabic users in specific locations; - The translation work will be funded from multiple internal and externally funded projects requiring skills in prioritisation and the ability to focus on different technical areas concurrently; - RBGE supplies the following documents to assist in the development of your response to the brief: Corporate Strategy; Science & Biodiversity Strategy. The successful supplier will be appointed for initial 24 month period with two further 1 year extension subject to satisfactory performance. (2+1+1 = 4 years in total)

Renewal: Two 1 Year Extension so 48 months in total.
