## Summary

The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is currently engaged in the award stage of a procurement process for the title "Sub meter Accuracy GPS Equipment and Maintenance". This open tender is primarily focused on the goods category within the education industry. The process details a substantial requirement for GPS mapping solutions that enhance the accuracy of geographical data for various botanical elements. The contract was formally signed on 7 January 2022 and includes a delivery location in Edinburgh, with the project having originated on 17 January 2022.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in GPS equipment and technology, especially those capable of providing handheld or backpack sub-meter GPS mapping solutions. Companies that manufacture or supply geographic information systems (GIS), including those offering compatibility with existing systems like ArcGIS and other horticultural data management tools, would be particularly well-suited to participate. Additionally, SMEs experienced in delivering robust, user-friendly equipment for non-specialist staff in horticultural settings are encouraged to consider this opportunity to grow their business through new public sector contracts.
