## Summary

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) is currently seeking tenders for the "Bathing Water Signage Installation and Maintenance Framework". This project involves the installation of Variable Message Signs at various bathing water locations across Scotland, aiming to inform the public about daily water quality conditions. The tender is at the open stage, with a deadline for submissions set for 31 January 2022, at 12:00. The total estimated value for the contract is £120,000, and it is categorised under 'works' in the environmental protection industry. Interested businesses can submit their responses electronically through the designated platform.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for construction and environmental service companies that specialise in signage, infrastructure installation, and maintenance. Companies with experience in similar projects, particularly those with a strong track record in public works and compliance with environmental standards, would be well-positioned to compete. The successful contractor will not only secure a contract for installation activities but also contribute to community benefits through enhanced public safety at bathing locations in Scotland.

## Notice

SEPA install bathing water Variable Message Signs (VMS) to display the water quality at a number of locations throughout Scotland. SEPA undertake modelling which allows them to make a prediction of water quality for particular bathing waters for that day. A message is displayed on the message sign informing the public of the bathing conditions for that day. The signs are currently installed at their bathing water locations. SEPA currently has signs installed at 33 locations covering 31 bathing waters. A new sign type is being developed and some of these existing locations are to have the old signage removed and new sign plus associated infrastructure installed. The decommissioned signs are likely to redeployed at new locations. The successful contractor will be responsible for: - Decommissioning of existing signs and redundant signage infrastructure at locations where new signage is to be installed; - Installation of new signage including associated signage infrastructure - Re-installation of 'existing signage' at new locations including associated signage infrastructure - Ad hoc maintenance at sites.
