## Summary

The procurement process involves the National Museums Scotland (NMS) which is seeking to award a Hard Facilities Management Maintenance Contract to manage and service their properties in Edinburgh and surrounding areas. This contract is crucial for preserving collections of national and international importance across multiple museums, including the National Museum of Scotland and the National War Museum Scotland. The contract, which has been awarded to FES FM Limited, is valued at £10 million and is set to commence on 1st April 2022 for a duration of five years, with a possible two-year extension. The procurement method used was a selective procedure and is currently at the contract award stage.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in facilities management, particularly those specialising in maintenance services for cultural and public sector properties. Companies with capabilities in reactive property maintenance, planned preventative maintenance, and major repair projects would be well-positioned to compete. Given that NMS allocates a substantial operating and capital budget for ongoing property-related works, businesses can explore avenues for sustained engagements through this contract and future tenders as they arise.
