## Summary

Heriot-Watt University, located in Riccarton, Edinburgh, has recently completed the procurement process for the purchase of a Tilt-able X-ray Scanner. This procurement, classified under the education industry category, was conducted through a limited methodology without prior publication of a call for competition. The contract was awarded to PanTerra Geoconsultants B.V. for a total value of USD 164,700, with the contract signed on 22nd March 2022. This initiative is part of their research efforts conducted by the School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society, and the primary delivery location for the equipment is at the university's Riccarton Campus.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in scientific instrumentation and research equipment, particularly those capable of manufacturing or supplying advanced technology such as X-ray scanners. Companies that offer innovative solutions related to educational and research needs would be particularly well-suited to compete in future tenders organised by research institutions like Heriot-Watt University. With the growing demand for specialised research tools, potential suppliers can leverage this opportunity to engage with academic institutions looking to enhance their research capabilities.
