## Summary

Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) is conducting a procurement process for the "Business to Healthcare" project, targeting the services industry within the Highland Council area, specifically in Inverness, Scotland. The current stage is the award of the contract, which was finalised on 20 July 2022. The contract is set to commence on 1 August 2022 and will run for an initial term of 20 months, potentially extending by up to 6 additional months. The budget for this service is estimated between GBP 110,000 and GBP 147,000 (excluding VAT).

This tender offers significant opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) looking to enhance their engagement with the health and care sector, including NHS and private healthcare providers. Businesses with expertise in life sciences and technology that address key themes such as diabetes, orthopaedics, and ophthalmology will be especially well-positioned to compete. This initiative not only aims to support SMEs in marketing their products and services but also facilitates connections with NHS clinicians for valuable feedback, encouraging long-term adoption of innovative solutions in healthcare.

## Notice

HIE requires a suitably qualified and experienced supplier to provide the requirements as detailed in the Scope of Requirements, whilst offering best value in the expenditure of public funds. Bidders are invited to suggest justified ideas for a delivery format. Delivery should be as accessible as possible and a fully virtual delivery format would be welcomed to reduce travel. The services will be required from 1 August 2022 for an initial period of 20 months (until 31 March 2024), with HIE having the option to extend for a period or periods together not exceeding 6 months following the Initial Term. The initial 20 month budget currently available to deliver this service is between GBP110,000 and GBP147,000 (excluding VAT).

### Lot Information

Lot 1

This is a Contract AWARD Notice and as such the procurement process is complete. The successful supplier will provide tailored support to SMEs participating in Business to Healthcare (B2Hc). B2Hc supports SMEs in their ambition to sell their products or services to the health and care sector, which includes NHS, private healthcare, direct to consumers, corporates. SMEs based or active in the Highland Council area will be supported to showcase their product/service to relevant expert audiences (e.g. NHS clinicians) and connect to networks to gain initial buyer and customer feedback. The ultimate aim is for these life sciences and technology SMEs to see their products and services adopted and purchased by the health and care sector long term. Phase 1 of B2Hc (ongoing until July 2022) welcomed any type of business or product. This phase 2 will focus on a number of themes that are in line with NHS Highland priority areas (Diabetes, orthopedics and opthomology - aligned with new Inverness NHS National Treatment Centre) and opportunities for quick commercialisation/easy market entry (direct to consumer, direct to corporates). Companies addressing these themes will be invited to apply.. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 8 and 9 of the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016.

Renewal: The Contract will be awarded for an initial period of 20 months with HIE having the option to extend for a period or periods together not exceeding 6 months following the Initial Term.
