## Summary

The Centre for Process Innovation Limited is currently undertaking a public procurement process for the "2263a - Stainless Steel Support Structure" project, located in Paisley, Renfrewshire. The procurement method employed is an open procedure, and it is divided into three lots: Equipment Platform, Material Hoist, and Electrical Services and Containment. The tender was initiated on 26th July 2022, with contracts issued as of 15th July 2022 for the Equipment Platform, valued at £177,897. Key stakeholders in the process include the Glasgow Sheriff & Justice of the Peace Court as the review body, while the bids statistics indicate a competitive field with three bids submitted for the Equipment Platform lot.

The equipment and Access Platforms provide support and operational access for the process and powder formulation equipment within Clean Room 2 (0.34) at the MMIC building Paisley, Renfrewshire. The tender is split into 3 lots: Lot 1 - Equipment Platform Lot 2 - Material Hoist Lot 3 - Electrical Services and Containment. Please download the tender pack for more information.

### Lot Information

Material Hoist

The Material Hoist shall be positioned on the right rear corner opposite the clean room material access door. The final position will depend on material access and the output of airflow modelling. The final position of the Material Hoist shall be included shall be included as part of the engineering package. Fabrication of the Material Hoist shall not commence until the vender submits the design drawings and calculations for acceptance by CPI. The Material Hoist load platform shall accommodate a 1200mm by 800mm pallet with a minimum load capacity of 500Kg. The vendor may propose alternative platform size and capacity to match commercially available equipment. The Material Hoist shall include hoisting platform, column runners, lifting arrangement and ramps to allow carts to be loaded onto and un-loaded from the platform. The platform surface shall be suitable for carts. The Material Hoist platform vertically swept operating volume shall be contained on all sides by a vertical safety cage. The Material Hoist and associated equipment and structures shall be GMP compliant. All the Material Hoist surfaces shall be smooth and wipeable. There shall be no ledges, crevices, recesses, or nooks that will entrap powders or allow powder to accumulate and are difficult to clean. All parts should be accessible and easy to clean.

Equipment Platform

The Equipment Platform structure shall have four vertical columns. The spacing will provide a minimum clearance of 200mm to allow the tablet press to be moved in and out of position and to open its maintenance access doors. This clearance is also required to allow the operating envelope of the blender's robotic lifting arm. The aim shall be to accommodate a swivelling robotic arm which raises, lowers, and holds the blenders in operating position while being able to operate the equipment and move the tablet press in and out of position. The final Equipment Platform column spacings shall be included as part of the engineering package. The tablet presses are moved in and out of operating position such that the longest side enters the structure head on. The largest tablet press is 1800mm long and 1200mm wide. The press shall clear the process platform legs. After the tablet press is in operating position there shall be enough clearance to open the access doors for maintenance. Note the press is moved such that its wide side enters the structure head on. To accommodate these requirements the minimum column spacings shall be: The left to right upright support column spacing shall be a minimum of 2450mm apart. Note this dimension may need to be adjusted after modelling and final equipment configuration. The final dimensions shall be included as part of the engineering package. The front to rear support column spacing shall be a minimum of 2900mm apart. Note this dimension may need to be adjusted after modelling and final equipment configuration. The final dimensions shall be included as part of the engineering package. Any required horizontal reinforcement shall be between the side columns. Horizontal reinforcement shall not be placed between the front and rear columns. The Equipment Platform structure is required to be "stiff" and physically isolated from the Access Platform. The substructure of the module should have a 1st-order natural frequency at the mounting supports of >10Hz in the vertical plane and >2 Hz in horizontal plane. The vendor shall submit design calculations to confirm that the design complies with this requirement. The vendor shall provide details of how the performance will be tested and demonstrated during Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT SAT).
