## Summary

The public procurement process, facilitated by Midlothian Council, pertains to the contract for "Advocacy Services" aimed at providing independent advocacy for individuals facing mental health challenges in Midlothian. The contract was awarded on 13th July 2022, with a value of £221,295.46. This procurement falls under the services category and was executed in accordance with the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014, allowing the council to award contracts without a competitive tender process for transactions up to a certain financial threshold. The contractor, CAPS Independent Advocacy, is located in Musselburgh, within the same region of Midlothian. The project addresses the needs of adults aged 18 to 65 with mental health issues, signifying its importance in the health and social care sector.

This contract offers substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in advocacy and mental health support services. Companies that possess expertise in providing tailored advocacy solutions, particularly for vulnerable populations, would be well-suited to engage in future tenders of this nature. Given that the procurement process followed a non-competitive route, it also indicates a potential for increased business outreach among similar organisations aiming to expand their offerings within the mental health sector in the region.
