Interested businesses should consider the specific construction requirements outlined in the project details and the contract value to assess their suitability to compete effectively. ## Notice To carry out maintenance and repair work to Portgordon Harbour ### Lot Information Lot 1 Two types of construction are evident in the walls and piers forming the harbour: - Mass concrete - Stone masonry consisting of large blocks laid in course without mortar. The East Quay within the Harbour is of stone masonry. The stone masonry construction extends to a point a few metres outside the harbour entrance. Thereafter, the finger pier, which continues seawards, is of mass concrete construction. A concrete wave wall extends along part of the eastern edge of the East Quay. The wave wall is retaining beach shingle to full height. The client's brief comprises: - - Provide safe egress from the harbour should anyone fall in; - Make some emergency repair to help prevent a much larger repair following damage by stormy seas. The permanent works consist of: - Installation of ladders and grab chains at various locations around the quays/piers; - Breaking down and reconstructing parts of the upper wave wall in reinforced concrete; - Breaking out and reinstatement of quay surface concrete slabs; - Remove large armour stones from the entrance to the harbour; - Paint mooring rings with High Visibility coating; - Clean/rake out a number of horizontal cracks in walls and fill with non-shrink grout; -
