## Summary

Scotland Excel, the central purchasing body for the local government sector in Scotland, is initiating a tender process for a 24/7/365 Managed Security Operations Centre and Detection Response Service. The procurement process is currently in the planning stage with a future notice date set for 29th November 2024. The service aims to provide visibility of security events from multiple sources and monitor them round the clock. The procurement is in the services category with an estimated value of GBP 7,000,000 and will be conducted through a single lot framework.

This tender opportunity presents a chance for businesses specialised in security services and M365 technologies to offer their expertise. Companies interested in providing managed security solutions and monitoring services to local authorities in Scotland should consider registering their interest. The procurement aims to streamline security processes across councils, foster knowledge sharing among public sector organisations, and create operational efficiencies. Businesses looking to contribute to establishing sector-wide security standards and enhancing the security skills of public sector staff are well-suited to participate in this tender.

## Notice

We are looking for a partner who can help implement and monitor a managed security operations centre solution, and respond to security events as they arise. This solution will be a common platform to provide visibility of security events from multiple sources in both the cloud and on-premises environment of the contracting local authority. The service will also provide a 24/7/365 monitoring of the platform and will take agreed upon delegated actions within agreed SLAs based on the categorisation of the security event. The solution should be based on M365 technologies that allow source log files to be held within the Local Authority. (this update was suggested, but I want your advice on it.)
