### Lot Information

Lot 1

The successful contractor will carry out an analysis of visitor flow throughout the JHG. We want a better understanding of: How visitors behave in the JHG and why Which areas they visit and the dwell time at various locations How the entrances and exits are used and what visitors do on entering the JHG after visiting the Garden What the challenges for visitors are in terms of wayfinding Any other insights revealed by the process Contractors should also review the existing space for AV presentation and the existing temporary exhibition space and provide analysis of these spaces. Research should not include circulation within the classroom area or the shop, though it may include movement into and out of these areas. Scope This should: Involve both observation and interaction with visitors Take place at various times of day during the week and at weekends in order to robustly model typical visitor movements Involve various visitor groups with differing needs as appropriate, for example families/foreign tourists/local repeat visitors The process of analysis and information gathering will take place during winter months. However, we expect that the contractor will also consider and address the impact of peak numbers on visitor movements during the summer months as well as the impact of the weather on visitor behaviour. The contractor will need to establish an ethical approach to their research. This should include consideration around the legislation, regulations and individual interactions with visitors, privacy impact assessment and GDPR compliance as necessary.
