The new play area and equipment should be suitable for children up to the age of 14 years and include play opportunities for children under 6 years and children over 6 years and be zoned according to these age groups; with equipment that reflects the needs and abilities of these age groups. The play area is used regularly by local nurseries and playgroups so please provide play opportunities for this age group. The equipment should be suitable for children returning regularly to the play area and keep their long-term interest. The equipment should incorporate a range of activities including climbing, swinging, bouncing, rotating and other rapid movement, as well as opportunities for creative, imaginative, co-operative and solitary play. The design must be suitable for children with a wide range of needs and abilities and incorporate inclusive features, equipment and conform to the Equalities Act.
