## Summary

The Comhairle nan Eilean Siar (Western Isles Council) is re-opening its Trades Framework Agreement 2021-25 to include new contractors for the Buildings Property Maintenance and Reactive Repairs framework. The initiative, categorised under general public services, aims to encompass various trade lots, including reactive repairs and low-value works not exceeding GBP 1,000 and minor maintenance and planned work with a value between GBP 1,000 and GBP 50,000. The procurement process is at the award stage with the related contract notice issued on 1st February 2023 and the final award notice dated 5th September 2024. The contracting activities will take place across the Western Isles, specifically the UKM64 region, and the procurement follows an open procedure method.

This tender provides businesses with numerous growth opportunities by potentially securing a position on a significant framework contract with a substantial contract value of GBP 1,500,000. It is particularly beneficial for companies specialising in services such as access control systems, air conditioning, boiler maintenance, builderwork, data cabling, electrical work, and more. The framework's requirements for specific accreditations (e.g., NICEIC, SSAIB, FETA) ensure that only qualified, professional suppliers are considered, encouraging businesses suitably experienced in these areas to compete. Successful inclusion in this framework could result in consistent work and revenue over a two-year contract period, with a possibility of renewal.
