## Summary

The National Library of Scotland is planning a procurement process for the installation of a replacement smoke extract system at its Causewayside building in Edinburgh. The contract is expected to be valued at around 5 million GBP. Interested parties have an opportunity to participate by providing feedback in response to a Request for Information. The Library aims to ensure a competitive tendering environment and will use the market feedback to shape the procurement strategy. The expected timeline includes a potential tender publication in late Spring/Early Summer 2023, with an award in December 2023 and on-site work starting in April 2024.

This tender presents an opportunity for businesses in the construction and building maintenance industry to compete for a significant works contract. Companies with expertise in smoke extract systems, AHU upgrades, and damper replacement, as well as experience in large-scale building projects, would be well-suited to participate. The National Library of Scotland, as the contracting authority, seeks to engage with responsive and innovative businesses that can deliver high-quality work while adhering to project timelines and ensuring minimal disruption to the operational activities of the Causewayside building.
