## Summary

The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) has issued a Framework Agreement titled "SPS-02002 Framework Agreement for the Provision of a Quantity Surveying and Project Management Service" aimed at supporting various construction, maintenance, and refurbishment projects. This service will cover projects ranging from approximately GBP 20k to over GBP 100m in value, with an annual maintenance replacement expenditure program of approximately GBP 3m to 5m and capital expenditure program works of around GBP 8m, including potential large-scale new builds up to about GBP 30m annually. The procurement category is classified under services, and the procurement method used is a selective, restricted procedure. This award is complete, and the contract commenced on 16th December 2024, spanning a duration of three years, with an optional 12-month extension. The key industry classification for this tender falls under CPV 71324000 (quantity surveying services), and works will be carried out in the UKM region, specifically benefiting the public order and safety sector.

This framework offers significant growth opportunities for businesses engaged in quantity surveying and project management, particularly those with substantial experience in handling large-scale construction and maintenance projects. The tender was awarded to three large suppliers: Atkins Realis, Currie & Brown UK Limited, and Thomson Gray, each securing contracts valued at GBP 3m. This framework opens doors for companies able to meet the stringent financial and technical criteria, including a minimum annual turnover of GBP 250k in relevant business areas over the past three years and adequate liability insurance. By participating in such comprehensive and high-value projects, businesses can expand their operational footprint, enhance their portfolio, and establish stronger connections within the public sector procurement ecosystem.
