The Just Transition Commission has recently advised that each of the JTPs should begin with a baseline assessment of the current 'state of the sector' with respect to inequalities within the sector

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The project has three core aims: 1) Identify and access existing datasets (from any source) relating to the current state of inequalities within the each of the four JTP sectors in relation to the eight national just transition outcomes. This should include inequalities in the sector workforce, as well as broader equalities considerations for individuals and communities (for example, inequalities in access to relevant education and training to enter the sector, access to sector goods and services, or opportunities to participate in and benefit from the sectoral transition). 2) Use the data sourced in (1) to: (a) document, in plain terms, existing inequalities within each of the sectors. This should include those related to income, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, age, and regional disparities including remote, rural and island areas, as well as any other protected characteristics or relevant socio-economic categories, and (b) identify key cross-cutting, systemic factors contributing to these inequalities. 3) Provide an assessment of the reliability, robustness and completeness of the identified data with respect to their value in documenting and tracking inequalities in the sectors; highlight key gaps in the data and identify any risks to the delivery of just transition as a result of these gaps; and suggest and requirements for additional data gathering and/or changes to current data collection, e.g. data collection intervals and spatial granularity.
