It is a cloud-based solution acting as a repository of information, as well as a powerful document and information management system across Boards. A CDE is a technology solution and process that enables a collaborative way of working to support Building Information Modelling (BIM). It ensures that data can be communicated, reused and shared efficiently, without loss, change or interpretation. Essentially a CDE (or AIMS) is simply a digital place in which information comes together and promotes a collaborative working culture. AIMS typically contains Information Models comprising of: -graphical information e.g., drawings and models. -non-graphical information e.g., schedules and specifications. -associated documents e.g., manuals and warranties which are progressively developed across a project lifecycle.
