## Summary

The University of Glasgow has completed the award stage for their comprehensive construction framework, titled "PURCH2196 UNIVERSITY OF GLASGOW - CONSTRUCTION FRAMEWORK." This procurement process, primarily targeting works in the education sector, falls under the UKM82 region, specifically focusing on projects in and around Glasgow. The framework includes three lots: Construction and Maintenance (0 to 500k GBP), Capital Projects (500k to 7m GBP), and Construction Projects (over 7m GBP). The contracts for these lots were signed on 23 May 2024 for the first two lots and 2 July 2024 for the last lot. The University used a competitive procedure with negotiation as the procurement method, aiming to build a robust and flexible support system for their ongoing construction and maintenance needs.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses within the construction industry, including SMEs and larger firms. The framework's division into three distinct lots allows businesses of varying sizes to participate and compete in projects that align with their capabilities and resources. By focusing on different scales of project complexity and value, the University of Glasgow provides avenues for business growth through continuous engagement over the framework's duration, which could extend up to six years. Firms that specialise in refurbishment, maintenance, medium to large-scale constructions, and innovative project delivery will find this tender particularly fitting. Additionally, the presence of established suppliers like akp scotland Ltd., Morris & Spottiswood, and Balfour Beatty indicates a competitive environment fostering high-quality standards and collaborative opportunities.
