## Summary

The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is planning a procurement process for a 'Biosecurity Station'. This involves designing and building a bespoke station at Benmore Botanic Garden to prevent the inadvertent introduction of pests on visitor footwear. The procurement stage is currently in the planning phase, with a future notice date of 31st August 2023. The location is in Edinburgh, UK, and the industry category is 'Education'.

This tender for the 'Biosecurity Station' by the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh presents opportunities for businesses that can supply a stand-alone, covered station with water supply, brushes, water jets, and disinfectant applicator. Businesses well-suited to compete would include those with expertise in construction and design of biosecurity equipment. The tender method is 'tender', and the process offers potential for innovation and collaboration with RBGE to meet specific design criteria.

## Notice

Stopping the inadvertent introduction of a new pest or pathogen on visitor footwear at Benmore Botanic Garden is a priority given the iconic nature of the Benmore landscape. We wish to hear from a contractor who can design and build a bespoke biosecurity station for the pedestrian entrance at Benmore.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

RBGE is looking for: The supply of a stand-alone, covered, biosecurity station with its own water supply to allow visitors to remove soil and debris from their footwear before entering the garden. This would require fixed brushes on the floor and sides, water jets and a disinfectant applicator. The station should have room for interpretation panels to explain the need for the station and how to use it. There needs to be a swinging gate next to the station so that prams and wheelchairs can pass. RBGE is would be willing to assist in the design and innovation of a product which meets the above criteria.
