## Notice

Marine Directorate invites a tender for the servicing of nine items of oceanographic equipment which recently been retrieved after deployment. The Marine Directorate (MD) collects physical environmental data on the majority of our cruises and other fieldwork activities. These data help deliver the commitment in the Scottish Government's Programme for Government "to protect our natural and marine environments for generations to come", "halting biodiversity loss and reversing declines" (as detailed in the Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero and Just Transition's contribution to the FM's Policy Prospectus). The data contribute to our monitoring of climate change and to the assessment of "prevailing conditions" for the National Performance Framework national indicators "Biodiversity", "Condition of Protected Nature Sites" and "Sustainability of Fish Stocks", as these environmental data are also used within international fisheries stock assessment working groups. Our environmental data get processed, QC'ed and curated onto our environmental datasets, as well as made available to the public and stakeholders and shared nationally and internationally through relevant data centres. The Oceanography Team maintains a pool of high quality oceanographic instruments. The quality of the data collected by these instruments is paramount so are required to maintain them in good working order, i.e. regularly serviced and calibrated professionally, so that they acquire high quality data during scientific operations. The project being put out to competitive tender is for the one-off maintenance (service, calibration and, where necessary, repair) of a number of oceanographic instruments manufactured by the company Sea-Bird Scientific.
