## Summary

The NatureScot organisation has initiated a tender for the Glen Creran Woodland Monitoring project, based in Inverness, UK. The project involves environmental protection activities focusing on Woodland features. The monitoring is scheduled to be completed by March 31st, 2024. Interested suppliers need to submit expressions of interest by January 29th, 2024, with the full Statement of Requirements to be provided to selected participants. The project offers opportunities for businesses in the environmental services sector, particularly those with experience in habitat assessment and conservation.

This procurement process by NatureScot is currently in the planning stage, with a strong focus on environmental services. Businesses specialising in woodland monitoring, habitat assessment, and environmental conservation are well-suited to compete for this opportunity. Suppliers are encouraged to demonstrate relevant experience and submit their interest by the specified deadline. The project presents a chance for businesses to contribute to nature conservation efforts and showcase their expertise in environmental protection activities.

## Notice

Woodland monitoring to be carried out in March 2024 in Glen Creran. Please note that this is not a 'regulated procurement'; we are only using the portal, via a PIN, to reach a wider potential range of suppliers from which to select to invite to tender. Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Special Areas of Conservation (SAC), and Ramsar sites are designated on the basis of notified features of interest. These features of interest may be particular habitats or vegetation types, particular species, or particular geological or geomorphological features. Site Condition Monitoring (SCM) is a ten-year rolling programme of assessment, against quality standards, of the state of notified features of interest on designated sites. This project is concerned with Woodland features. This project will undertake field assessment, using NatureScot's Woodland Site Check Plus (SCP) methods on Glen Creran Woods SSSI/SAC. We require that the monitoring will be completed by March 31st 2024. While it is intended that the work will cover both the 2023/24 and 2024/25 financial years, we have not had our budget for 2024/25 confirmed as yet so it is possible that the contract will not progress beyond 31st March 2024. All agreed work carried out by that time will be paid for. Contractors are welcome to suggest work schedules and alter the suggested payment terms to allow for as much work to be carried out in this financial year as is reasonably possible.
