## Summary

The University of Strathclyde has concluded a procurement process for the supply, delivery, and commissioning of a 5 Stage Mixed-Suspension, Mixed-Product Removal (MSMPR) system for its Continuous Manufacturing and Crystallisation Centre (CMAC). The contract, awarded on 5th December 2024 and valued at £246,565, was executed under an open procedure. The award was made to Alconbury Weston Limited. This project, categorised under 'Goods' in the Education sector, aimed to enhance the capabilities of the CMAC within the Technology and Innovation Centre in Glasgow. The procurement included options for potential additional services to be requested from the successful supplier.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in high-precision manufacturing equipment. The procurement requirements highlight a strong demand for expertise in automated control systems and chemical processing equipment, aligning well with SMEs and larger firms in the research and industrial manufacturing sectors. Companies engaging in this contract can leverage the project's scope to showcase their advanced manufacturing solutions and strengthen their foothold in the educational and research technology market. Firms capable of delivering technically advanced systems with integrated advanced process control (APC) capabilities would be particularly well-positioned to benefit from such opportunities.

## Notice

This Contract Award Notice relates to the contract appointed to a sole supplier to provide the Continuous Manufacturing and Crystallisation centre (CMAC) with a 5 stage Mixed-Suspension, Mixed-Product-Removal (MSMPR) system to operate in their existing world class research facility in the Technology and Innovation Centre at the University of Strathclyde. As a research centre focusing on delivering high impact industrially relevant research with a broad portfolio of funding streams from government funded research through pre-competitive and confidential projects, CMAC required a new MSMPR to enhance their capability and continue to drive their Quality by Digital design initiative.
