## Summary

The Scottish Prison Service has awarded a contract for the ongoing support and maintenance of its Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) system. The procurement method used was a limited tender, with an award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition. The buying organization is located in Edinburgh, UK, and the industry category is public order and safety. The contract title is "SPS-01610 Support and Maintenance for SPS's EPOS System." The procurement process has reached the award stage, with the contract signed on 8th February 2024, valuing £110,000.

This tender presents an opportunity for businesses specializing in providing support and maintenance services for EPOS systems in the public safety sector. As the contract is for ongoing support and maintenance of a specialized system developed by the incumbent supplier, businesses with experience in intricate technical integration projects would be suited to compete. The Scottish Prison Service aims to ensure the seamless operation of its EPOS system within its estate, offering a potential long-term partnership for the chosen supplier.

## Notice

This contract is for the on-going support and maintenance of SPS's Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) system currently in use within SPS estate.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

SPS intends to make a direct award to Lapsley Ltd who currently provide SPS with ongoing annual support and maintenance (ASM)for the EPOS system. The EPOS system is installed throughout the SPS Estate. SPS intends to award a three year contract with a possible two year extension.

### Procurement Information

SPS implemented an EPOS system in 2014 via a contract with Lapsley Ltd, procured via Open Competition. This Contract provides ongoing support and maintenance for this EPOS system. The EPOS system has been developed over a number of years, to fully integrate with SPS' existing internal prisoner record system. As these developments have been written and implemented by Lapsley Ltd, any new supplier would not be familiar with the full range of functionality that the software now offers and the complexities of the technical integration with the prisoner record system. The proposed contract term aligns with a separate project which is assessing services which may be provided in an in-cell environment in future.
