The SEIA will assess the objectives and policies of Scotland's National Marine Plan 2 ("NMP2") and the results will contribute to the Sustainability Appraisal of the NMP2, a requirement of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009. It is expected that the SEIA will take approximately four months to complete, with additional support as requested during the remainder of the contract period. The Marine Directorate wishes to commission a project to undertake the delivery of the social and economic impact assessment of the NMP2. This assessment, together with the outputs of the statutory environmental assessments (subject to a separate tender) will be drawn together and summarised in the Sustainability Appraisal report.
