### Procurement Information

The University of Edinburgh require a pharmacovigilance system for recording, storing, analysing and reporting drug and device adverse events. The research and clinical trials that the University of Edinburgh typically conducts includes: academic clinical trials using marketed drugs; non-regulated clinical research studies; and regulated medical devices. These clinical trials require bespoke Serious Adverse Effect (SAE) forms that capture only the information that is required. No other system is available that is suited to the University of Edinburgh requirements as other systems are far more complex, do not allow bespoke form entry and are tailored to either the pharmaceutical industry for drug development or to companies developing medical devices. Based on the above, competition is absent due to technical reasons as no other system is available that suits the University of Edinburgh requirements.
