## Summary

The Orkney Islands Council is seeking to commission the delivery of a seabed survey in east Scapa Flow. The tender title is "Provision of Seabed Survey", with a value of £35,000 GBP. The procurement method is an open procedure, with an electronic submission. The tender period ends on 3rd June 2024, and the award period starts on the same day.

This tender presents an opportunity for businesses involved in marine services or remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operations. Companies capable of providing ROV equipment and skilled pilots for seabed surveys would be well-suited to compete. The Orkney Islands Council will accept electronic responses, and suppliers are advised to submit documents early to avoid last-minute issues. The procurement is seeking a suitably powerful ROV to conduct survey work and provide data outputs for habitat assessment in the defined area.

Recommendations should be provided on the spread of ROV surveys necessary to produce a reasonable assessment of the habitat within each of the three areas and the number of days survey required to deliver this. Alternative survey scenarios are welcome with relevant pros and cons. Data management and submission of outputs - collation of the ROV video footage (navigation and external HD camera feeds) and associated data products (including through-water vehicle positioning / tracks and depth logs). Supported by field notes (e.g. e- or paper recording forms used on the vessel that tie the video / still image files to specific sampling stations.
