## Summary

Historic Environment Scotland has awarded a contract titled "Provision of Steeplejack and Associated Services for the Edinburgh Area" under the open procedure procurement method. This contract is classified under the "Built Environment, Heritage and Tourism" industry category and covers services in the UKM75 region encompassing Edinburgh. The main objective of the contract is to provide steeplejack and rope access services for visual masonry checks and related works. The contract was signed with TRAC Engineering Ltd on 31st July 2024, after the tender stage concluded on 13th June 2024. No significant options or variations are allowed within the contract period, which spans 720 days with an option for extension.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in rope access and steeplejack services, particularly those trained and registered with ATLAS and IRATA, ensuring compliance with British Standards and Health and Safety regulations. Suitable candidates are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) capable of fulfilling the minimum staffing requirements and providing necessary safety certifications. Additionally, the inclusion of community benefits such as work experience or apprenticeships provides an avenue for broader business engagement and social contribution. Business growth is achievable by securing similar contracts that demand expertise in industrial rope access and maintenance services.
