## Summary

South Lanarkshire Council has completed the "South Lanarkshire Council CCTV Infrastructure Phase 1 – Supply, Install and Maintenance of Cameras" procurement process, under the industry category of General Public Services, with an emphasis on public safety and security. The procurement aimed to modernise end-of-life public space cameras with a hybrid solution. This project was divided into two phases, initially replacing the cameras while keeping them on analogue circuits, with a transition to a digital wireless network in phase two. The procurement followed a restricted procedure and was publicised under a Quick Quote for Work under £2m GBP, ensuring local SME involvement. The contract, valued at £127,660.21 GBP, was signed in February 2024 and awarded to RACAM Security & Communications Limited, based in Glasgow.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in security technology, especially those specialising in CCTV systems, installation, and maintenance. Local SMEs with NSI accreditation were particularly encouraged to participate, highlighting the Council's focus on engaging regional businesses. Firms with expertise in both analogue and digital CCTV solutions, and those capable of phased implementation projects, will find this type of tender beneficial for business growth. Future tenders similar to this one could offer continued opportunities in upgrading and maintaining public safety infrastructure, providing a stable stream of projects for suitable businesses.

## Notice

The Council's Housing and Technical Resources Property Services have a requirement to appoint a specialist contractor for the Supply, Deliver and Installation including Maintenance of Cameras as part of the Council's Public Space CCTV Infrastructure and Network Upgrade. The project is based on a two phase approach with phase 1 focusing on the replacement and modernisation of the end of life public space cameras with a hybrid solution, allowing the hardware to remain on the analogue fibre circuits in the interim but be capable to switch over to a digital local wireless network on completion of phase 2. Both phases within this project is funded by the UK Government.
