## Summary

The University of Dundee has completed the procurement process for the DESTINE study, a tender for the supply of WHO pre-qualified rapid diagnostic tests for Hepatitis C virus. The buyer is the University of Dundee located in Dundee, UK. The procurement method used was a limited tender procedure without prior publication of a call for competition. The main procurement category is services. The deadline for this award was 2nd July 2024. The contract has been awarded to Carramore International Ltd with an active status and a contract value of £50,530 GBP signed on 5th June 2024.

This tender for the rapid diagnostic tests presents business growth opportunities for suppliers able to fulfill the exclusive supply requirements due to protection of intellectual property rights. Small and medium-sized logistics companies experienced in shipping to Ethiopia for research purposes are well-suited to compete. The engagement with the University of Dundee offers potential for ongoing collaborations and expansion into the healthcare services sector.

## Notice

WHO pre-qualified rapid diagnostic test for Hepatitis C virus, OraQuick. Total of 5,000 tests plus shipment to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

We require 5,000 rapid diagnostic tests for diagnosing Hepatitis C infection for our research in Ethiopia. There are 6 such tests that are certified by the WHO. We previously had to buy other laboratory consumables for this research study and discovered that purchasing consumables for Ethiopian labs is difficult. They are unable to purchase from in-country. We have to buy the goods on their behalf and ship to Ethiopia. This requires a process of pre-certification via the Ethiopian customs, and certification before goods are shipped. We therefore require the services of a logistics company who are experienced in shipping to Ethiopia.

### Procurement Information

The supplies and services can be provided only by a particular economic operator due to protection of exclusive right, including intellectual property rights
