## Summary

The Loch Lomond and The Trossachs Countryside Trust invites tenders for the project titled "Optimising Woodland Design for Biodiversity and Long-Term Management within Wild Strathfillan". This active tender is part of the environmental protection sector and seeks to enhance biodiversity through strategic woodland design and management. Located within the Wild Strathfillan area of the northern Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, the tender has a submission deadline of 2nd September 2024, with the contract period running from October to December 2024. The procurement is in the tender stage and follows an open procedure, with bids to be submitted electronically via Public Contract Scotland.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses with expertise in environmental consultancy, particularly those experienced in woodland creation, biodiversity enhancement, and habitat management. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in executing best practices for biodiversity and long-term management. The scope of work includes summarising best practices in woodland creation, incorporating initiatives from environmental NGOs, and providing tailored strategic information for optimal woodland management. This contract is well-suited for vendors specialising in environmental conservation, sustainability, and ecological consultancy who are looking to expand their portfolios within Scotland's renowned natural environments.

## Notice

We require a contractor experienced in planning woodland creation sites, with a detailed knowledge of the biodiversity potential of woodland habitats along with experience of implementing best-practice guidance to maximise benefits to biodiversity and to enable long-term management. Over the estimated duration: October to December 2024 the successful contractor will be required to: - Summarise woodland creation and long-term management best practice in the context of the Wild Strathfillan area, including advice relevant to the habitats and species found in the area, adopting a cross-taxa approach and providing focused advice on key species of conservation concern in the area. This information will be summarised in a report. - Consider how initiatives from other environmental NGOs, for example Butterfly Conservation's 'Wild Spaces' can be incorporated into woodland design to ensure that the habitat created is diverse, heterogeneous and thoughtfully designed, so it can support a wide range of species. - Equip Wild Strathfillan with tailored information to ensure woodland creation and future management is optimally executed.
