## Summary

Aberdeen City Council has completed the procurement process for the Denis Law Mural Commission, a street art project to create two large-scale murals celebrating the achievements of footballer Denis Law in the Printfield community of Aberdeen. The project, part of the Denis Law Legacy Trail, is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and The Common Good Fund, and was originally proposed on 3rd March 2020. The procurement stage has advanced from tender to contract award, with the murals to be installed by 11th October 2024. The project highlights the Council's commitment to public art and community engagement, and aims to enrich the cultural landscape of the area. The selected supplier for the contract is Blank Walls, an SME based in Hemel Hempstead.

This project provides a significant business growth opportunity for street artists, mural designers, and firms specialising in public art and community projects. The tender's requirements highlight the importance of experience in public realm projects, strong project management skills, and the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders. Firms with proven track records in large-scale mural execution and those able to comply with community engagement and collaborative working principles are well-suited to compete. Additionally, businesses focusing on sustainable practices and promoting community benefits are likely to find this opportunity particularly fitting. The project will further enhance the visibility and reputation of the successful artist or firm within the UK public art sector.
