## Summary

The Common Services Agency, also known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), headquartered at 1 South Gyle Crescent, Edinburgh, is initiating the planning stage for the procurement of an Electronic Blood Products Ordering System. This process, specifically aimed at the Health industry, is set to enhance the capabilities of the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS). A crucial aspect of this project is to gather market intelligence and feedback by 28th October 2024, ahead of any formal tendering. The procurement notice was published on 4th September 2024, with potential tendering expected around February 2025. This pre-tender exercise will allow NHS Scotland to better understand market capabilities and indicative costs related to the planned solution.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in electronic health systems, particularly those with capabilities in developing and supporting sophisticated order management solutions. By participating in this exercise, businesses can influence and align with NSS's requirements, potentially gaining a competitive edge for future formal tenders. Ideal candidates for this opportunity include companies experienced in health tech solutions, blood product logistics, and bespoke software development tailored to the healthcare sector. Engaging early on in this planning phase allows businesses to shape the project's direction and improve their visibility within NHS procurement streams.
