## Summary

The Scottish Sports Council, operating as sportscotland, has concluded a procurement process for the development of Training Coach Development Practitioners (CDPs) for high performance sport. This service falls under the recreation, culture, and religion industry category. The contract, valued at £32,250, was awarded to the University of Stirling. The tender initiated in September 2024, was awarded in February 2025, and the contract will commence in December 2024, with a duration of 18 months. The project focuses on designing and delivering a learning programme for up to 12 CDPs, supporting Scotland's sustained success in performance sports.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in sports training and development, particularly those with experience in high-performance coaching. Organisations can leverage this project to showcase their expertise in developing elite training programmes and supporting performance pathway coaches. SMEs with a background in sports education, coach development, or performance enhancement are well-suited to participate in such tenders, positioning themselves as key contributors to the growth of Scotland’s sports performance on the world stage.

## Notice

sportscotland is seeking to appoint a supplier to design and deliver a programme of learning for up to 12 'Coach Development Practitioners' (CDPs), for an 18-month period. Scotland has achieved a series of best-ever outcomes in the last decade of performance sport, but to retain success on the ever-more competitive world stage, sportscotland Institute of Sport (SIS) needs to grow the 'Coach Developer Practitioner' workforce to better enable the support and learning of Performance/Performance Pathway coaches. Currently, seven CDPs are deployed by SGBs (Scottish Governing Bodies of Sport) to support coaches on a 1:1 basis, with circa 60 coaches supported since 2020. With around 170-200 coaches operating in the Performance/Performance Pathways coaching space, a growth in this workforce is required. Full details are provided in Section 2 - Project Brief which includes the sportscotland curriculum for Performance Coach Development. The contract duration is 18 months. The contract is set to commence in December 2024.
