## Summary

Kishorn Port Limited, a central purchasing body located in Dingwall, UK, has completed the "Kishorn East Reclamation and Dry Dock Enlargement" project, entailing the extension of an existing dry dock by cutting into the rock foreshore and using the material for land reclamation. This procurement process, categorised under the 'works' industry and using a selective 'restricted procedure' method, was carried out at Kishorn Port and Dry Dock, Strathcarron. The tender originally opened on 19 September 2024, with a submission deadline on 11 October 2024. The procurement reached its award stage on 25 June 2025, with RJ McLeod (Contractors) Ltd securing the contract valued at approximately GBP 20.87 million.

This major infrastructure project provides substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in marine engineering, construction, and infrastructure development. Large contractors capable of handling significant blasting and land reclamation works are ideally suited to such opportunities. Although the procurement stages have concluded, future projects of a similar scale can offer growth prospects by encouraging the use of local suppliers and subcontractors, thereby fostering regional economic development. The emphasis on quality criteria, including health and safety and environmental considerations, highlights the potential for businesses abiding by high industry standards to gain leverage in competitive tendering environments.
