## Summary

The University of Strathclyde has successfully concluded a public procurement process for the provision of Occupational Health Physician Services, announcing the award on 12 November 2024. This tender, categorised under the services industry, involves a contract valued at £160,000. The awarded contract, identified as UOS-32209-2024, will be fulfilled by Salus Occupational Health & Safety, a large-scale provider based in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire. The procurement employed an open procedure and aimed to appoint a single supplier to deliver on-site occupational health services, including statutory health surveillance and workplace assessments, primarily within the Glasgow region (UKM82). Key dates included the invitation to tender on 24 September 2024, with a submission deadline of 17 October 2024, and the contract signing on 11 November 2024.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in the provision of occupational health and safety services. Companies with experience in delivering specialist medical advice, engaging in health surveillance programmes, and conducting workplace assessments are well-suited to compete for similar future tenders. The emphasis on impartial, confidential medical advice to support university activities underscores the need for accredited professionals. Firms that can demonstrate relevant accreditations such as registration with the General Medical Council and fellow status with the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, alongside adequate insurance coverage, are particularly competitive. Additionally, the focus on community benefits indicates opportunities for businesses committed to contributing positively to social, economic, and environmental outcomes.
