## Summary

South Lanarkshire Council is currently in the planning stage for a public procurement project titled "Market Engagement for Light & Heavy Vehicle Repairs (Mechanical and Electrical)". This procurement falls under the category of General Public Services and is located within the UKM95 region. The engagement exercise focuses on mechanical and electrical repairs for the Council's fleet of approximately 1700 vehicles. Key dates include the anticipated publishing of the Invitation to Tender in 2025, with a planned award of a 2-year contract, potentially extendable for an additional 2 years. The planned procurement is projected to be open and structured as a Lotted Framework, ensuring fair and transparent competition.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in vehicle mechanical and electrical repairs, enabling them to secure a substantial contract valued at approximately £2 million GBP. Companies well-suited for this tender include those with proven capabilities in servicing and repairing large vehicle fleets and those who can offer robust mechanical and electrical repair services on an ad-hoc basis, potentially filling gaps where the Council lacks in-house capacity. Participation in this process will allow businesses to grow by potentially securing a long-term contract with a reputable public organisation, thereby enhancing their market credibility and financial stability.
