## Summary

Dumfries and Galloway Council is overseeing the procurement process for the "Early Learning, Childcare and Brokerage Services" contract in Dumfries, UKM92. The industry category is General public services, focusing specifically on early learning and childcare services. The process has reached the award stage, with the latest contract signed on 14 January 2025. The procurement method used was an open procedure, allowing for a wide range of bids to be considered. The framework, initially established in 2023, has been reopened in October 2024, with relevant lots awarded to providers such as Little Gems Childcare and Little Wren’s Montessori Childcare. This framework is now active, and awarded contracts are designated to last for an initial period of five years, with an optional extension of two years.

This tender offers expansive opportunities for businesses particularly in the childcare and early learning sector, including private and third sector settings, as well as childminders. Companies that meet the Council's standards and can deliver high-quality childcare in compliance with statutory requirements are well-suited to benefit from this contract. The flexible framework allows for continuous registration and service commencement, providing stability and growth potential for participating businesses. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly encouraged to compete, as evidenced by successful awards to local providers. Through this procurement, businesses can enhance their service portfolio and secure long-term engagements with a regional authority.
