## Summary

Caledonian Sleeper Limited, a central purchasing body based in Inverness, UK, carried out an open procurement process for the rental of body worn video cameras (BWVC) to enhance the safety of its on-board and station lounge staff. The contract, identified as CPT-029, falls within the rail industry category and covers delivery across the UK. Caledonian Sleeper selected Pinnacle Response Ltd, a Belfast-based SME, as the supplier for this contract, valued at £152,610. The procurement method was an open procedure, with the process advancing from tender status on 21st October 2024 to award completion with the contract signed on 22nd April 2025.

This procurement offers significant opportunities for businesses experienced in supplying electronic security equipment. SMEs such as Pinnacle Response Ltd have demonstrated competitiveness in this field by securing the contract. Businesses involved in technological innovation that can improve safety systems in public transport would find this procurement particularly relevant. Opportunities arise for those capable of addressing logistical challenges inherent to wide geographic distribution, ensuring the optimal deployment and management of advanced security equipment like BWVC. With a focus on safety enhancements, this procurement aligns with efforts to create safer public transportation environments, potentially boosting business growth in the rail security equipment sector.

## Notice

Due to an increase in instances of verbal assault, CSL has taken the decision to introduce BWVC for all on board and station lounge staff.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

Due to an increase in instances of verbal assault, CSL has taken the decision to introduce BWVC for all on board and station lounge staff. Due to the size of the CSL operation, the business does not have managed station accommodation in all locations and as such, this presents a logistical challenge to the management of BWVC. CSL is looking to identify a supplier to work alongside, in order to identify and procure the most appropriate solution to the supply and management of BWVC. Based on the number of overall users per shift, CSL estimate that there will be a requirement for 100 BWVC, alongside appropriate peripherals. Please include a specification of the product you are proposing

Renewal: 2 year extension option
