## Summary

The University of Dundee, located in Dundee, UK, initiated a procurement process for a Multiplex Spatial Biology Digital Imaging Platform using DNA bar-coding technology. This tender falls under the category of goods and is specifically aimed at enhancing the University’s capability to map the spatial architecture of cells and phenotypic profiles within tissue samples, which is essential for deep characterisation of tissues. Originally, the tender stage started on 30th October 2024 with a tender period ending on 2nd December 2024 due to an extension. However, the status of the tender was later marked as cancelled as of 17th December 2024. The procurement method was open procedure, and it was to be delivered to the University of Dundee School of Medicine at Ninewells Hospital & Medical School in Dundee.

This procurement provided substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in advanced laboratory and imaging technologies, particularly those involved in life sciences and medical research. Companies offering related accessories, consumables, and software could also benefit, as the tender included options for such additions. Although the original tender has been cancelled, awareness of such opportunities can prepare businesses for future bids that the University may open to advance their research infrastructure. The focus on cutting-edge technology and translational science core facility services is ideal for businesses aiming to partner with leading academic institutions in the UK and contribute to impactful research in molecular and cellular medicine, cancer research, and other medical fields.

## Notice

The University of Dundee School of Medicine require a spatial biology platform to embed this cutting-edge technology to map the spatial architecture of cells and phenotypic profiles within tissue samples. This new technology for the University will enable deep characterisation of tissues to identify which cells are present, where they are located in tissue, their biomarker co-expression patterns, and how they organize and interact to influence the tissue microenvironment.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The University of Dundee School of Medicine require a spatial biology platform to embed this cutting-edge technology to map the spatial architecture of cells and phenotypic profiles within tissue samples. This new technology for the University will enable deep characterisation of tissues to identify which cells are present, where they are located in tissue, their biomarker co-expression patterns, and how they organize and interact to influence the tissue microenvironment. The multiplex platform will be embedded within the University's Tayside Biorepository and be provided as a university wide translational science core facility service. The equipment will be used by over 20 research groups across the Schools of Medicine and Life Sciences in a broad reach of research programs, including translational research, molecular and cellular medicine, cancer research, neuroscience and infection and immunity. This will provide a significant opportunity to characterise disease progression and responses to therapy within translational research and clinical trials to support patient stratification and biomarker and drug development.

Options: Potentially other related accessories, consumables, upgrades, software, hardware after original purchase.

Renewal: Maintenance/service renewal beyond initial purchase.
