## Summary

The University of Strathclyde, located in Glasgow, announced an open tender for the supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning of a CNC Turning Machine for the National Manufacturing Institute of Scotland (NMIS) facility. This procurement falls under the education sector and industrial machinery category, with a contract duration of 14 months, including a 12-month warranty period and a maximum 6-week lead time for delivery. The tender was awarded on 24th March 2025, following an open procedure, with key dates including the tender period ending on 23rd January 2025 and the contract signed on 25th February 2025. The project required a single supplier to fulfil specific technical requirements for the CNC Turning Machine, aimed at enhancing NMIS's manufacturing capabilities.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in manufacturing and supplying industrial machinery. Companies specialising in CNC machinery, particularly those capable of meeting the detailed technical specifications such as a 200mm diameter chuck, 4000rpm spindle, a 12-station turret, and through tool coolant, would find this contract particularly beneficial. The procurement process highlights the emphasis on high-quality machinery and timely delivery, making it an ideal growth opportunity for firms with a proven track record in similar projects and those keen to establish or expand their presence in the Scottish manufacturing sector. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with robust technical capabilities would also be well-positioned to compete for such contracts, fostering potential growth and expanding their market reach.
