Transport Scotland is looking to undertake further invasive and non-invasive archaeological investigations on the A9 Dualling Tay Crossing to Ballinluig project. Full contract requirements were provided in the competition documentation. The scope of the archaeological investigations includes the following: - landscape survey - recording of historic building and structures, such as: photographs, elevation drawings and a descriptions of the structure's fabric and chronological phasing. - archaeological trial trenching (including at the Kindallachan Cairn scheduled monument). - archaeological excavation (if required subject to results from trial trenching). - archaeological "strip, map and sample" (if required subject to results from trial trenching). - post excavation assessment, reporting, analysis and publication (this will be required in some form; the scope and scale will depend on extent of archaeological discoveries. - community benefits.
