## Summary

Historic Environment Scotland, a central purchasing body based in Edinburgh, has successfully completed the procurement process for a project titled "Commercial Ticketing and Retail Systems", focussing on the service category within the tourism and heritage sectors. The procurement employed a restricted procedure, a selective method that emphasised both quality and pricing criteria. The process was initiated in March 2025 during the planning stage, followed by an active tender phase concluded in July 2025, and an award stage that finalised the contracts in May 2026. Prominent suppliers, Ventrata and Reply Limited, secured contracts valued at £1,248,280 and £1,507,530 respectively, paving the way for an extended contract term of up to 10 years if renewal options are exercised.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for business growth, primarily for suppliers engaged in the development and management of ticketing and retail systems. Businesses that innovate in customer service enhancement, system integration, and retail management across multiple channels will find this procurement advantageous. Small and medium enterprises (like Ventrata) alongside larger firms (such as Reply Limited) have both demonstrated successful engagement, accentuating chances for diverse businesses to scale operations and secure long-term partnerships with a prestigious authority like Historic Environment Scotland.
